Why Study RegTech?

Cambridge’s RegTech programme will deliver critical insights and hands-on tools for working professionals in government and industry to address an increasingly complex regulatory environment. The course will prepare risk, compliance, innovation and data sector business leaders to navigate the complexities of the industry, including technologies such as Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Machine Learning (ML) that support automated regulation.

In this programme, professionals will:

  • Identify new applications and revenue opportunities for RegTech solutions –including technologies such as big data, cloud computing and AI
  • Understand model-driven, machine-readable and executable regulations to scale a business
  • Learn from leaders who created the Regulatory Genome Project, a transformational initiative launched in part by the Cambridge Centre for Alternative Finance (CCAF) to sequence an open-source repository of machine-readable regulatory information

What makes this course different is the capstone project that allows our learners to uncover new ways of thinking about leveraging RegTech in business by identifying a challenge for regulators or regulated industries, creating a detailed framework and recommending a real-world solution.

“This programme is a good example of the application of data science to solve real world problems - in this case, challenges around regulatory change, regulatory compliance and risk management for firms operating in the economy.”

Robert (Bob) Wardrop, Management Practice Professor, University of Cambridge Judge Business School
